Eight years ago, Scranton Prep developed a comprehensive strategic plan that called for bold initiatives for our future. Central to our planning and dreaming was the desire to dramatically improve both our facilities and our endowment. The past five years have seen the construction of a new arts and science center, a new gymnasium and student center, an outdoor athletic complex, the complete renovation of every classroom and student area in our main building, and the increase of our endowment from $2 million to $10 million. No period in our school's history has seen such dramatic improvements.
Through the continuing efforts of The Defining Moment Capital Campaign, we have changed the landscape of our school forever. To secure the future of Prep and prepare the school for generations to come, we needed to raise a total of $24 million; the largest single investment the school ever contemplated. We are almost at our goal. We are confident that our dream will soon become a reality through the generosity of our alumni, current and past parents, and friends.
